This is both ‘hello’ and ‘goodbye’

Hello to you all fine people, and goodbye to my favorite place as I travel home today. Last week I went to Kauai and had a blast.

I navigated my way through a gf, df diet as best as I could with limited food truck hours and some amazing restaurants. Indulged in Mai, Tais, and tuna poke (san the soy sauce), ate Hawaiian shaved ice, played with the local cats, laughed at the antics of all the wild chickens, snorkeled, and worked on my tan around torrential downpours and rainforest weather. I was not ready to leave of course, but ah that is life. So, after a week of blissful indulgences how am I planning on getting myself back on track?

Here are a few things that I am planning…

I’ll be cutting out alcohol as I really don’t drink when I’m at home, then getting back to balancing out my macros, (been a little carb and fat-heavy), and upping my protein. And getting back into the gym of course.

I’ve learned over the years to first enjoy my vacation time and not to stress out about it, to allow myself the time and space to do so, without judgment of myself.

I anticipate that my weight will have fluctuated by a few pounds, that I’ll be a little bloated, and that the gym will be a little rough the first couple of workouts but again, life is not meant to be a rigid scaffolding structure. Life is meant to live and let loose once in a while.

So that’s the plan, simple really.
